Advantages of Implant Dentures

In this video, Dr. Berger explains how implants can stabilize loose lower dentures, helping to prevent the shifting and bone loss that often occur over time.

We often encounter denture patients who, over time, feel that their dentures have become loose and may need a reline. This occurs because, with every bite, the denture can shift slightly, exerting pressure on the underlying bone. As a result, the bone gradually loses thickness. This issue is particularly evident in the lower jaw, which is home to 44 muscles. Even something as minor as winking can cause the lower denture to rise.

To address this, we can place implants in the lower arch. These implants enable the lower denture to snap securely into place. While there might still be minor movement due to the attachments, the denture will remain stable and won’t change direction with each bite.
